In recent years, focus on the Rural Revitalization and other national strategies, regional revitalization has become a key issue of balanced development of our society, but also to the field of design research put forward a new topic. In fact, regional revitalization is not only our country but also the inevitable requirement of the economic and social development of all mankind to a certain stage. Although our design discipline has been upgraded to the first-class discipline, the history of design has developed from design 1.0 to design 4. However, because of the regional revitalization involves resources, environment, economy, religion, politics, culture and society, the traditional design or the current so-called grand design cannot complete the design tasks entrusted by the regional Revitalization. The era appeals for innovative design based on sense of place — regional revitalization design, which is a complex adaptive system (Complex Adaptive Systems) or holistic design based on the theory of complexity science.
